Has esports become more exciting to watch?.png

Competitive gaming continues growing rapidly across the world, but this month marks a particularly big moment for UK esports.

VALORANT Masters London 2026 is about to bring one of the biggest international esports tournaments in the world to the capital, with top teams from Europe, the Americas, China and Asia competing in front of a live audience at London’s Copper Box Arena.

What was once viewed mainly as online gaming has evolved into sold-out arena events, international broadcasts and major productions watched by millions of fans worldwide.

The event has also brought more attention to the UK esports scene, with London hosting one of the most important tournaments of the year and British artist Che Lingo featuring in the official Masters London cinematic.

Many supporters believe esports has entered a completely new era thanks to:
  • larger live events
  • professional organisations
  • international tournaments
  • growing mainstream recognition

Others feel esports still has room to grow before reaching the same level of public recognition as traditional sports.

It also raises bigger questions:
  • Has esports become more mainstream than ever?
  • Would you attend a live esports event?
  • Which esports title has had the biggest impact on growth?
  • Could the UK become a bigger esports destination in the future?

What do you think? Has esports entered a new level of popularity?
